Macallister

Hi Abby & Dahlia:

I hope I didn't freak out Sharlie (sp?) too much today
when I returned her call and said there was no cat
named Felix here. (By the way, the call meant a lot
this morning; we were very impressed with the
follow-up!) Macallister (the cat formerly known as
Felix) is doing quite well. He's been with us now
over 24 hours, and he made himself at home
immediately. He woke up at 5:30 a.m. this morning
(well 6:30 if you take into account Daylight Savings)
but he is a kitten and was feeling his oats. We made
a little kitty bed up for him in a rather large basket
and put a blanket in it, but he opted to sleep in the
big bed with mommy & daddy. Our former cat, Macallan,
did that, but we didn't want to have any expectations
of Macallister, or to equate him with her on any
level. The funny think is that we thought we'd name
him Talisker (after another single malt Scotch
whisky); at least that was the plan on our way home.
(Incidentally, Macallister was a trouper and didn't
cry once in the car.. In any event, Susan thinking
she was calling out "Talisker" said "Macallister"
(probably from the last 4 years of calling out to
Macallan). We looked up the meaning of Macallister on
a Scottish surname website and since it means "Son of
Alexander" and since his daddy is an Alexander aka
Sandy, we just have to call him Macallister. And so
this is now is name... the artist... we mean "the cat
formerly known as Felix".

Not sure if Sharlie gave you the message but the piece
of paper that we inadvertently left at home prior to
coming to Felines Inc. had "Felix" at the top of the
list (this was from our Friday night web sojourn).
Ah, fate...l

We just wanted to say again how impressed we were/are
with your shelter, and we wish you all the best of
luck and success in finding a new home. We have given
your upcoming events info to our son (Sandy, Jr., SJ
or Sandy, J); he so much admitted he's not into
bowling, but the wine event intrigued him... so
hopefully we can prod him along a bit.

Thank you again for recognizing that we are good
parents, and thank you for allowing us to adopt our
dear, sweet Macallister.

We hope to get some better pix down the road, but here
are a few for the moment (see attached).

Again, many thanks for your graciousness and please
let us known how we can continue to help in the
future.

All best wishes and cheers,
Sandy & Susan Marshall

PS Dahlia: Our friend in East Finchley wrote back
when she heard the news and saw the pix: How
marvelous that such a creature could find his way to
the filing system of "Mechanical Toys". Yes,
Macallister has found his way to our eBay shelf.
