Hi,
We saw the stories on the site and had to add our 2 cents. I wonder how many there remember Colleen, a female tuxedo cat. Abby told me she was there for 6 years and NEVER let anyone pet her. This changed when I wandered in one Sunday, suddenly I was petting her and she was purring like mad! I took her home that day but she had a very difficult time adapting to her new home. She wouldn't let me touch her at all, I was very disappointed as I wanted her to be happy. Abby suggested she needed a feline friend, she found what she called "the sweetest cat you've ever seen". This was Fluffy, a gorgeous Maine Coon with an amputated tail. He just has a little stub that swings like a windshield wiper. Colleen decided she liked him and soon I was petting both of them. Colleen is now extremely affectionate, she loves laps and purrs very loud. The difference in her is amazing to anyone who knew how she was before. Fluffy too is very happy here, Colleen and him sleep together daily.
This isn't the end of the story though. About 3 years ago, the woman who's now my wife moved in with her two cats, BooBoo and Jasmine. There were fireworks between the two females but now they're civil to each other. Colleen wants to snuggle with Jasmine but Jasmine isn't quite there yet. Still, all in all, we're one big happy family!
